Gift Registry Terms & Conditions
Product Availability
Some items on a wedding list may become unavailable during the duration of your list. This may come to our attention when we try to place an order for an item and are advised by our supplier that the item is no longer available or has been discontinued. If this is the case, we will contact you to suggest an alternative product. If you do not wish to choose the alternative and the available gift has already been purchased, we will offer you a gift voucher in its place for the same amount. We can also offer a refund to the guest / person who originally purchased the item(s).
Special Order Items will be available to add to your list as "available to order". These may be non-stock items for our store and so will only be ordered in for you specifically once the item has been purchased, not when it is added to the list. Note: Smyth Patterson reserves the right not to accept the return or exchange of goods that are Special Order Items.
Pricing of Products on Wedding Lists
Prices will be subject to change throughout your wedding list, just as prices throughout the store, in general, would increase/decrease over time.
Gift List Returns Policy
Any items that are being returned that have been purchased off a gift list must be returned unused, in original packaging, within four weeks of the wedding date. If you wish to return an item, we will offer an exchange or a gift voucher for the original value. This policy does not affect your statutory rights when a product may be damaged or faulty. No returns can be accepted, or exchanges offered after this time.
Age Restricted Products
A Wedding List may contain products which are restricted in sale by law (such as knives, knife blocks etc.). By purchasing from your list, your guests agree to comply with these laws.
Gift Vouchers Purchased off a Wedding list
The bride and groom must use gift vouchers purchased off their list before their expiry date (within a year of the date of purchase). Gift vouchers can be used to buy remaining gifts off the list and other products in the store. Wedding gifts vouchers cannot be used to purchase other Smyth Patterson vouchers.
Events Beyond Our Reasonable Control
We will not be held responsible for any delay or failure to comply with our obligations if the delay or failure arises from any causes that are beyond our reasonable control. This may include shipment delays from suppliers and issues with the free delivery service that could affect delivery dates etc. This condition does not affect your statutory rights.
Gift Wrap & Collection
Your gifts are gift wrapped for free. We will also attach a card which contains the gift message your guest has chosen to accompany their item(s). Larger/more difficult items such as ironing boards, baskets, large pictures etc. may not be wrapped, but will still contain a card/gift message. We now offer a more environmentally friendly option where you can opt to not have your gifts wrapped. Gift messages / cards will still be attached to all gifts purchased off the list.
Delivery Service
We offer a free delivery service of your wedding gifts. Our store currently operates delivery routes to geographical areas on certain days of the week. Therefore, we cannot always deliver on your day of choice. It is advisable to give as much notice as possible as, depending on how busy our dispatch department is, it can take a few days to arrange a suitable delivery. To organise delivery please call one of our wedding team and confirm the delivery address is correct.
If you wish to collect your gifts from the store, you must give us a call or email to pre-arrange a suitable date and time for collection. We will require you to sign for any goods you collect at the time.
All gifts must be either delivered or collected within 6 weeks of your wedding date (please refer to our Gift List Returns Policy which states that returns / exchanges are only available up to 4 weeks after the date of your wedding).
Free Wedding Gift List delivery to the bride and grooms desired address relates to Northern Ireland only.
Payment Methods
Items purchased online can be paid for by using most major credit/debit cards. Our payments are processed securely through Sage Pay.
Your Contract with Us
When you place an order to purchase an item from a wedding list you enter into a transaction with us. Your order constitutes an offer to us to buy the selected goods. To meet our commitment to you, we will store your order and the necessary personal details, obtain authorisation from your bank for the payment and we may make certain security checks on your identity and address. An email is sent to you as an acknowledgement that we have received your order. If for any reason there is a problem collecting payment for your order, we will not be obliged to fulfil your contract.
Amendments to Terms and Conditions
We reserve the right to update or amend these terms and conditions at any time, without giving prior notice. If you breach these terms and conditions and we take no action, we will still be entitled to use our rights and remedies in any other situation where you violate these conditions. These conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Northern Ireland and England. You agree, as we do, to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Northern Irish and English Courts.
Please note: Due to ordering times, supplier delivery times and purchase times, there is no guarantee all items will be available before/by the date of the wedding/delivery.
